As we bring the first semester of the 2022-2023 school year to a close, the holiday spirit is alive and well on campus. I have just returned to my office from our third semi-annual Global Awards, where we recognized students who embody not only the learner profile attributes for which they were recognized, but also our definition of learning: “At Global Jaya School, learning is the lasting growth, change, and development of knowledge, skills, understanding and behaviour.”
On the way to my office, I strolled through the Staff Wellbeing Committee’s Holiday Bazaar, where I saw students, parents, faculty, staff, and guests celebrating the season, the end of the semester, and the community on which we pride ourselves.
Later today, I will enjoy performances by staff and students from both Primary and Secondary in Plaza A, as well as the Teenfrastructure Basketball Skills Challenge in the gym. Today’s events are an example of our vision and mission come to life and serve as just one more reminder of what makes Global Jaya such a special place.
Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate and happy holiday to you all. I hope it is restful, rejuvenating, and rewarding. If you are traveling, I wish you a safe journey and an equally safe return. I look forward to seeing you all back on campus on 9 January. Until then, may your days be merry and your hearts be full.
