Dear Parents,
The end of the first semester quickly dawned upon us. Before we realize it, we will be stepping into another dynamic year.
As we reflect back on 2022 and all that it had to offer, we can do so with a great sense of collective pride and achievement. Making progress towards what had become the norm is a challenge. However, as a community, we have risen above and taken every opportunity to celebrate and move forward with kindness and grace.
November was the month of kindness while December was the month of giving. As we made kindness the norm and participated in Random acts of Kindness, we witnessed something beautiful and wonderful that sparked in all our students.
In particular, our reception students integrated kindness into their unit of inquiry and took action by identifying the members of the community that serves us, interviewing them, writing thank you notes, inviting the primary school to thank them, and finally concluding the month and unit by initiating the Reception got Gratitude. The students gave thanks to the community members by serving them breakfast, singing and dancing and saying their personal thanks to those who serve our school.
The Primary school was buzzing with students demonstrating acts of kindness towards their peers, teachers and family members. We also came together as a community and raised funds to support with the relief operations for the earthquake victims in Cianjuar. As a community, we raised IDR 32,000,000. Those who witnessed and participated in these beautiful and selfless acts would agree that these simple acts make a big difference to the people who are touched by these gestures.
The coming of the new year is an excellent time for self-reflection and goal setting. As you cross the line between 2022 and 2023, consider things you are grateful for and wondrous things you want to achieve.
We take this opportunity to wish you a happy holiday season and a blessed new year. If you are traveling, safe travels. If you are staying in town, we hope you are able to spend quality time with your family and loved ones. Whatever your plans, we wish you safety, health and happiness. We are excited to welcome you back on January 9, 2023.
Happy Holidays and a Blessed New Year.
Kind regards,
