During the YLM, students and teachers discussed Service as Action Next Cycle Briefing. Ibu Diana explained that the SA Reports for this academic year will be released by the end of Semester 2 (June 2022). Now, it’s time to plan the students’ projects for Service as Action next academic year.
This time, the social connection activity was done online by having a fun Kahoot game that students played together as an advisory class. In the Kahoot, students guessed the teacher from the funny photos given. The time has been adjusted to ensure the class has time to discuss their answer to each question. The class that correctly guessed the most teachers would win a prize and the class is 8C. Congratulations to all students in 8C!
During March, Year 8 advisory classes are still continuing with the theme of Bystander to Upstander. During morning advisory class, students chose one of the scenarios and thought about one of the strategies to help them role-play how to be an upstander in the selected situation. They then rehearsed and performed to the class.
In the next week, students were introduced with the idea that they will now work on a service as an action project designed to promote ‘No Bystanders’ at GJS. As a class, they were brainstorming possible ideas for action, and then brought the ideas to create a ‘No Bystanders’ campaign for GJS. They may work on this project either individually or in small groups
The 2022 Indonesian Ice Skating Open (IISO) Championship was held at the ice skating BX Rink Bintaro Jaya Xchange Mall, South Tangerang, from March 10 to 12, 2022. Around 200 ice skating athletes participated. They came from five ice rinks, namely BX Rink, Sky Rink, Oasis Center Arena, Gardenice and Bali Ice Skating Arena.
Aimee (Year 8C Global Jaya School Student) is one of the participants who won second place for the freestyle category ice skating and fourth place for the artistic ice skating category.
World Mathematics Invitational (WMI) is an annual international competition, which this year is organized by BINUS School Serpong and Edukultur International. Chris (8C), Varo (8C) and Ezekiel (8D) have finished the 1st round, and are still waiting for the result to know whether they will be eligible to go to the final round. We wish all the best for them!
