Greetings GJS community! The last several weeks in the Secondary School have been amazing. With the government announcement that we could have 100% of our students on campus, it feels like things are getting back to normal. Even with the challenges that we knew would come with a full return to campus, our students, teachers, and staff have said that it feels so good to have everybody back. There is definitely a buzz, an excitement, an energy back on campus that just wasn’t quite there through odd/even blended learning.
As of this writing, just over 90% of Secondary students have permission for on-campus learning. With that in mind, we remind you that teachers will move to proportional teaching time between those with permission to be on campus and those without. If 18 of 20 students in a lesson have permission to be on campus, that teacher will dedicate 90% of their attention and teaching time to the 18 students on campus and 10% to the 2 students at home. With the vast majority of our students now allowed on campus, this is a logical progression toward the eventual end of blended learning.
We have a number of exciting events in the coming days and weeks, which we look forward to sharing with all of our students.
