The High School Concert Orchestra is for string players in grade 9. The class meets daily, and a wide range of music is selected during the year. Students will focus on developing and refining technical aspects of string instrument performance as well as basic music theory. Several performances are required and will be listed on the calendar and in the orchestra handbook.
Prerequisite: Completion of middle school orchestra classes, and/or instructor approval

The Advanced Chamber is intended to offer a high level of musical challenge, and is for serious string players in grades 9-12 through Audition Only. The class meets every day, and an intermediate/advanced level of chamber music is selected during the year. Students will focus on developing advanced techniques of string instrument performance and advanced music theory. This group serves the local community at various events throughout the year and is expected to have a specific repetoire of music prepared at all times. Several performances are often added throughout the year. This group is required to perform at MSBOA Solo and Ensemble as well as the MASTA Chamber muisc Festival. Members of the class are also expected to purchase their own metronome/tuner and earbuds to use during class.
