Concert Student Helpers

Greeters (Start @ 6:15)

Greeters stand at the fire doors just off the foyer. Greeters welcome people to the performance and hand everyone a program. Be sure to smile and be warm and friendly. Please do not stand and visit with your friends when people are coming in. Say things like … “Welcome to the Concert, I hope you enjoy the show!” Greeters can only be Symphonic Band or Wind Ensemble members.

Ushers (Start @ 6:15)

Users stand at the doors to the auditorium. Ushers help people find their seats, either from their ticket or finding non-reserved seats. When someone comes to the doors, the ushers greet the guest and ask “Can I help you find your seat?” If they say yes, then ask them if they purchased reserved seats. If so, get their ticket number and help locate their seats. If they did not purchase a reserved seat, help them find a seat that they would like, that does not have a reserved sign on them. Wait until they are seated before going back to the door. Be sure to tell them to “Enjoy the concert!” Ushers can only be Symphonic Band or Wind Ensemble members.

Set-Up Crew (Start at 6:45)

Set-up crew reset the stage for the next group. It is important that you work quickly as no one comes to a concert to watch people set up chairs and stands. Before the concert starts, make sure that you have a setup map. This will tell you how many chairs and stands are needed in each row. Set-up crew members should get together in the band hallway to come up with a game plan. For example … decide who is going to do the first row, who is going to do the 2nd row, etc. Figure out how many chairs and stands you need to add or subtract in each row. When the group prior is done performing and has exited the stage, immediately go on stage and begin. Remember to work quickly and efficiently. When you are done, have one person double-check everything. If you know it is correct the let Mr. Klee or Mr. Tripp know that the stage is now set. SYMPHONIC SET-UP CREW CAN ONLY BE WIND ENSEMBLE OR CONCERT BAND STUDENTS. WIND ENSEMBLE SET-UP CREW CAN ONLY BE CONCERT BAND OR SYMPHONIC BAND STUDENTS.

Director Helper (Start @ 6:15)

Basically, you are the person standing in the band room to take care of anything that the band director needs. Hang by the band room doors, and be ready to do any task. Mr. Klee and Mr. Tripp will let you know if there is anything for you to do. You may not be needed, or you may be crazy busy.
