STUDENT LEADERSHIP

At Fulham Cross Academy, our students are given a wide range of opportunities to develop and practise leadership skills in preparation for life beyond school. Student voice is integral to the development of our school, and we provide students with a platform to engage in discussions and the opportunity to be active participants in making FCA a fantastic place to both study and work.

FCA Student Council:

In the Autumn term, ‘election fever’ hit FCA with students across the school standing for election to Student Council. The process involved students creating their own personal campaigns and presenting these to their peers in assembly. This provided students not only with the opportunity to understand the British value of democracy, but has provided them opportunity to develop their confidence and communications skills whilst embracing ‘the FCA way’. Whilst representing their peers, the newly elected council plan to work on the improvement of student recognition and intend to run fundraising campaigns throughout the year to support causes both within and outside our school community. Each of our student councillors take on a strategic leadership role based on their strengths and aspirations. Councillors are provided with bespoke leadership training to develop their skills and ensure that they can have greater impact in their influential positions. Our councillors are considered role models to the rest of the school and wear distinctive badges so that they can be recognised by the whole school community. We are incredibly proud and excited to see the wonderful projects that our Student Council has planned come to fruition in 2023!
