Curriculum Statement

The core principle at Fulham Cross Academy is to deliver an excellent education for all students.  Our shared mantra: ‘best lesson, best day, best year, best future’ is embraced by both our students and staff and has been embedded through our aspirational, varied curriculum present in our school community every day. We passionately believe in our curriculum which enables students to remember more, know more and do more.  Over the 7 years that students are with us, our curriculum prepares learners for the ever evolving working world. They will acquire and develop skills - both academic and personal – enabling them to thrive in all aspects of their life during their time at Fulham Cross Academy.

Our values are demonstrated though the STEAM ethos principles:

Self aware

Team Orientated

Emotional intelligence

Academically Aspirational

Motivated and well-mannered

As a STEM specialist academy, we are proud that our curriculum is tailored to maximise the strengths of all our pupils: from a GCSE in Chemistry to a Level 2 qualification in Construction or Business; from a Level 3 Business and Technology Diploma in Information Technology to an A-Level in Mathematics.  The curriculum offer at Fulham Cross Academy joins practical and academic learning, so pupils are ready for the working world.   The purpose of this approach is to broaden the educational experience of students beyond that of a ‘one size fits all’ academic pathway.  We are committed to equipping young people with the necessary skills to become valuable, active and self-sufficient citizens in a modern society.  This is in conjunction with providing them with the confidence and intellect to be a successful professional in the world of work.  In combining both academic and vocational principles, Fulham Cross Academy students are provided with an education whereby they can choose from a wealth of options, opportunities and pathways once they enter their post-16 phase.

Our curriculum at Fulham Cross Academy extends beyond the classroom.  We work closely as a student and staff body to design ‘deeper learning days’ throughout the academic year.  This involves students participating in bespoke workshops focusing on a variety of principles related to STEM.  Students and staff will work together on these days to further establish strengths of individual pupils and, in turn, begin the options process.
