Personal, Social, Health and Economic and Health Education (PSHEE) is a subject that supports students’ personal development the FCA Way. Our programme empowers students to make informed, healthy decisions - the first time and every time.
By providing specialist teaching in a 50-minute PSHEE lesson every week in Year 7 to Year 9 (and for set days in Year 10 and Year 11), FCA provides students with a vital foundation for their future: the skills and attitudes needed to thrive in this ever-changing and complex world. PSHEE is taught in a safe environment, where students are encouraged to share their opinions and ideas to investigate how they can contribute to building positive, empathetic communities. Topics included in PSHEE are:
careers education and guidance,
physical and mental wellbeing,
substance misuse,
citizenship,
diversity and equality,
money management,
relationships, sex, and health education.
Some aspects of PSHEE are also taught and revisited in other curriculum areas, including Science, Religious Education, Computer Science, and Mathematics. PSHEE is also delivered through a vast range of other activities, including the assembly programme, curriculum trips, and by welcoming speakers into school. The Curriculum Area works closely with the Pastoral Team, particularly each year group’s Head of Year and Progress Tutor.
If you are a guardian of a child at the school and have any questions relating to the PSHEE curriculum or specific provision of sex education, please contact our Cross-Trust Lead of PSHEE and Careers via the email address: lottie.boumeester@fulhamcross.net
