Bands from Lebanon Trail, Lone Star, and Wakeland, along with 30 other schools, participated in the UIL State Marching Contest in San Antonio. The musicians, student leaders, color guard, directors, and parent volunteers spent countless hours over the past few months preparing for the UIL competition. During every step of the performances, each band displayed precision and artistry that showcased the powerful fine arts programming available through Frisco ISD. Lebanon Trail’s performance of “Sleeping Beauty” features the largest flags in the district, as well as huge prop beds that were used to narrate the musical. The marching band is led by Director Kelly Wykoff and Assistant Directors Matthew Schaul, Mikaela Probst, and Rob Parks. Congrats to the band for earning 15th place in the State for the 5A Conference! Although UIL Marching Contest is over, the band performs during the halftime show at Prosper Rock Hill tonight at 7PM.

Frisco ISD is thrilled to announce that starting with the 2022-23 school year high school students will have two additional ways to earn high school credit. Students will have the option to engage in their learning as a full-time online student or as a hybrid student through the FISD+ program.
“This is something we have been working on for years and we are thankful that Senate Bill 15 has propelled us forward in this journey,” said Dr. Mike Waldrip. FISD+ will provide high school students the flexibility to learn at home with an FISD educator and curriculum in an online setting that meets and exceeds the Texas Education Agency standards.

An informational webinar regarding the Navy National Defense Cadet Corps (NNDCC) program will be held on Wednesday, November 17th from 6:00-7:00 PM. This webinar is for all parents of students and students who are interested in joining the program for its second year at Lebanon Trail High School in 2022-23. The presentation will include an overview of the program which will address course details, requirements for admission, costs to students and families, academic implications, and future benefits for military and college bound students.
All newcomers to the program in 2022-2023 will become full time Lebanon Trail High School students for all of the years that they choose to be in the program. This mandate falls in line with requirements to become an NJROTC unit. During the webinar parents will have an opportunity to ask questions.
The NNDCC has similar curriculum and student learning experiences as the Naval Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (NJROTC). The mission of the NNDCC is to motivate young people to be better citizens and the program encompasses a myriad of teaching goals focused on leadership, teamwork, character education, personal responsibility, a sense of accomplishment, and service to the nation.
