Congrats to all Frisco ISD students who took home awards at the annual Collin County Junior Livestock Show. This year, the FFA students of the District had another phenomenal showing at the Myers Park and Event Center in McKinney. The weeklong event included rabbit, poultry, swine, sheep, goat and cattle shows, along with horticulture and shop projects representing local school districts.

A VOE (verification of enrollment) request for the purposes of driver’s permits and licenses must be initiated by the student in the Student Portal: Click Here VOE Link.
If a printed VOE is no longer valid, the student just needs to request one again in the portal and enter the current date on it. It is processed automatically through the district and will be signed virtually and sent to the FISD student email and primary student contact. VOE's are not processed in the LT Offices. Thank you!
FISD DISTRICT COMMUNICATION: ALL student absences, including those related to COVID, should be reported via "Report an Absence" Tab on our LT website. Email LTHSAttendance@friscoisd.org or “Report an Absence” on the LTHS homepage. Absences are excused if the student has tested positive, has symptoms consistent with COVID-19 as determined by the school nurse or has voluntarily chosen to stay home due to COVID-19 concerns, including notification of a positive case in the student’s classroom. All absences, both excused and unexcused, count toward the state’s compulsory attendance law. When a student's attendance drops below 90 percent but remains at least at 75 percent of the days the class is offered, the student may earn credit for the class or a final grade by completing a plan approved by the principal. See more details on our Frequently Asked Questions.
Parents/Guardians:
We are seeing extremely high numbers of positive cases, therefore, please err on the side of caution to help us control the spread of this highly contagious illness.
Parents/guardians MUST screen their students for COVID-19 symptoms each day prior to sending their student to school. If the student has ANY symptoms of ANY ILLNESS they should not attend school. Please follow current guidelines on keeping your student home when exhibiting any signs of illness (see When To Keep Your Child Home from School)
Covid-19 symptoms include ANY of the following, not all: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle/body aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, and nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
IMPORTANT: cold and allergy symptoms could also be symptoms of Covid and are what we are commonly seeing right now; most cases we are seeing do not have fever, we have not seen any cases recently with loss of taste or smell. Assuming the symptoms are allergy related or something else is not providing the safe environment we want for your students and our staff.
For students that have exhibited symptoms of Covid, they must meet ONE of the following to return to campus:
1) at least 10 full days have passed since the beginning of symptoms OR
2) Provide negative Covid test result to Nurse Evans to clear before returning to campus—we cannot accept an “at home” test per FISD policy; however, we accept them for positive results. OR
3) a note from a physician that identifies the individual’s symptoms as something other than COVID-19 (not just a return to school date)
Parents are required to report to the school nurse as soon as possible if their student has tested positive for COVID-19 or is experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
Isolation Period for students testing positive is 10 FULL DAYS:
FISD policy is still 10 full days of isolation after symptom onset (or positive covid test if asymptomatic). Even though CDC guidelines have changed and physicians may be advising you that it is okay to return, they cannot return until the full 10 days have passed. This is based on TEA and State Health Department guidelines.
After testing positive, there is no need for additional testing. There is no returning sooner than the 10 day isolation period even if there is a negative test prior to that date.
Athletes testing positive (this includes Cheer and Drill Team):
FISD require athletes to have clearance from a physician prior to returning to participation in athletic activities based on UIL recommendations. This letter of good health must specifically state that a full return to sport/athletics/participation is allowed. This is to ensure that the student does not have any lasting effects of Covid that could put them at risk if they exert themselves too soon.

The AP exam payment window for spring semester AP courses (AP Economics, AP Government & AP Psychology) is open through February 14. Exam fees are available in Online School Fees and payment finalizes the student’s AP exam registration.
Students in a full year AP course who have not paid for their exam can pay by contacting Kim Colon by February 14. There is a $50 late fee per exam. AP Exam refund requests must be made by February 14 and will incur a $50 fee per exam.
To make a late payment or request a refund, please contact Kim Colon, CCMR Facilitator, at ColonK@friscoisd.org.
February 14 is the FINAL AP registration, payment and refund request deadline for Frisco ISD. No exceptions! For more information about AP Exams, go to FISD Advanced Academics.
Students: Please update your Chromebooks. This will be really important as we start to get into testing season. We have temporarily changed the background on all FISD Chromebooks to remind them to do this, but any reinforcement you can give is appreciated! They should be updating at least weekly.
