A VOE (verification of enrollment) request for the purposes of driver’s permits and licenses must be initiated by the student in the Student Portal: Click Here VOE Link.
Students who are planning to obtain a driver’s license or a driver’s permit at the Department of Public Safety over Spring Break will need to request a VOE in the student Portal prior to noon on Saturday, March 5th. The VOE application will be down the week of Spring Break due to system upgrades. You will not be able to request a VOE after “noon” on March 5th through Monday morning, March 14th.
The DPS will not allow the student to obtain a permit or driver’s license without the Verification of Enrollment (VOE) DPS form that is provided through the student portal. If your student does not request the VOE prior to Saturday, March 5th, the appointment with the DPS will need to be rescheduled for the week after Spring Break, as offices are closed.
VOE's are processed automatically through the district and will be signed virtually and sent to the FISD student email.

High school is an important time for students to develop the personal finance skills they will need as they enter adulthood. Some students may be familiar with basic money management terms like credit and loans but high school is the time to dive deeper and teach them about real-world applications of their financial choices.
On Tuesday, March 8, Texas OnCourse will host a webinar to help parents teach their students financial concepts and skills.

National School of Excellence (SOE) Update
Your PTSA Excellence Team analyzed results of the survey, sent to our LT community in November, and created by the National PTA School of Excellence. Thank you, if you participated in the survey.
Based on survey results, your Excellence Team has set the goal to increase positive responses to survey statement 7: “Our school helps families understand how they can support their child's learning.”
The ultimate goal with this selection is to increase family engagement supporting student success. The team is beginning to work on each action item and will provide updates in this newsletter, the PTSA website, and our social media with specific actions taken throughout the semester to achieve our objective. Our measure of success is an increase in the “always” responses to the upcoming follow-up survey for the statement “Our school helps families understand how they can support their child's learning.” The follow-up survey will be sent in April 2022. Our award for success is a national 2-year designation of LTHS as a National PTA School of Excellence.
