Congratulations to Susan Moran and Vicki Wong, educators in biology, for their Frisco Education Foundaton grant award. FEF funds projects of innovation that could otherwise not be experienced. Students in Advanced Biology can look forward to updated bio tech equipment such as PCR testing and gel electrophoresis. FEF has awarded over $1 million in grants to FISD teachers and staff.
One of our fabulous LTHS clubs, Food For A Cause, brought in homemade desserts to say thank you to teachers and staff!
Recently, students from FISD high schools participated in the competitive TMEA Region 24 All-Region High School Orchestra Auditions. Nearly 140 high school students were accepted into the All-Region orchestras. Region 24 is known around the state as being the most competitive orchestra region in Texas, and to receive a place is a tremendous accomplishment. We are thrilled to share that, after two years of virtual sessions, Texas Girls State plans to return in person for June 2022. This is exciting news for our American Legion Unit, and we hope it will be for your junior girls as well. The Application Window for the 2022 summer session is now underway. The online forms are open from Nov. 1 - Dec. 5, 2021.
