Mitch Blink

Mr. Blink is a graduate of Kalamazoo College (GO HORNETS!), with Master's degrees from Western Michigan University and Spring Arbor University. Along with having his school counseling endorsement, Mr. Blink is a Licensed Professional Counselor. He came to Forest Hills in 2012 after teaching and counseling for 11 years at Paw Paw High School. He and his wife, Emily, have two FHE Hawks, Eleanor and Audrey, and a spoiled Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Gus.
Autumn Gossett

Ms. Gossett earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Science with a dual focus in Elementary Education, as well as a Master’s degree in Counselor Education, all from North Dakota State University. Before arriving in Forest Hills, she served as a high school counselor in Fargo, North Dakota, where she spent four rewarding years supporting students. Ms. Gossett is a big animal-lover and has two beloved pets – Ellie May (dog) and Captain (cat).
Angie Maynard

Mrs. Maynard earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Michigan State University and her Master’s degree in Counseling Education and Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. Mrs. Maynard has worked in the healthcare setting as a Child Life Specialist for 10 years and is also a Limited Licensed Processional Counselor. She has been a resident of Forest Hills since 1983, has 3 daughters and one very loved PomaPoo, George.
Nicole Deckrow
Career Counselor
Mrs. Deckrow has earned both her graduate and undergraduate degrees from Western Michigan University. She spent the first 15 years of her career at Lowell High School. During that time she was a special education teacher (5 years) and a school counselor (10 years). In 2020 she moved to Forest Hills where she spent a bit of time at Eastern Middle School before coming to EHS as our Career Counselor. In addition to her school counseling endorsement, Mrs. Deckrow is also a Licensed Professional Counselor. Mrs. Deckrow and her husband, Dustin, have three proud Hawks, Hayden, Reese, and Teagan!
Stephanie Thornton
FHE School Social Worker
Mrs. Thornton graduated from Hope College and received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan. She spent 4.5 years at Reeths Puffer Elementary, then 19 years working at Orchard View Elementary, first as the School Counselor and then as the School Social Worker. She joined the staff at FHE and EMS in 2017. Mrs. Thornton primarily works with students who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and with students who are in the Peer to Peer program. In addition, she is the staff advisor for the Mental Health Club at FHE. She and her husband have 2 adult children, Rhea (the University of Alabama) and Jace (Hope College).
