Meet the FHE Counseling Staff!
High School Students, last names: A – Howe (12th), A-H (9th-11th)
Mr. Blink is a graduate of Kalamazoo College (GO HORNETS!), with Master's degrees from Western Michigan University and Spring Arbor University. Along with having his school counseling endorsement, Mr. Blink is a Licensed Professional Counselor. He came to Forest Hills in 2012 after teaching and counseling for 11 years at Paw Paw High School. He and his wife, Emily, have two future FHE Hawks, Eleanor and Audrey.
High School Students, last names: Howi – McCle (12th), I-M (9th-11th)
Mrs. McCambridge graduated with a Master's in Counseling Education and Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University and has been counseling at Forest Hills since 1998. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Central Michigan University. Mrs. McCambridge taught Elementary School from 1990 to 1998. She and her husband, Joe, have 2 children.
High School Students, last names: McClo – Z (12th), N-Z (9th-11th)
Ms. VanOrsdol earned her bachelor's degree in English for Secondary Education from Michigan State University and her master's in School Counseling from Grand Valley State University. Before coming to Forest Hills, Ms. VanOrsdol served for four years with AmeriCorps in several different roles including teaching in a Spanish bilingual classroom in Boston. Ms. VanOrsdol is so excited to join the team at FHE!
FHE School Social Worker
Mrs. Thornton graduated from Hope College and received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan. She spent 4.5 years at Reeths Puffer Elementary, then 19 years working at Orchard View Elementary, first as the School Counselor and then as the School Social Worker. She joined the staff at FHE and EMS in 2017. Mrs. Thornton primarily works with students who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and with students who are in the Peer to Peer program. In addition, she is the staff advisor for the Mental Health Club at FHE. She and her husband have 2 adult children, Rhea (the University of Alabama) and Jace (Hope College).
