Students show Superintendent Caulk how they code using Scratch . They then demonstrate how they create a Spanish- speaking country flag game using their program and a Makey-Makey so that younger students may learn the flags of the countries and their locations in the world.

STLP students create an interactive bulletin board for the Spanish Heritage Month using Makey-Makeys, Raspberry Pie, and a software program like Scratch.

Students use a chroma and different apps to present videos in Spanish, pretending they are visiting places in Spanish-speaking countries. For example, students "visit" a soccer stadium in Argentina. These videos are then included in the weekly school news show.

Sr. Chamorro, also a former visiting teacher from Spain, applies his specific qualifications in this field to provide students with a music education that fuses content, language, and culture. Through popular games and traditional songs of the Spanish-speaking world, Sr. Chamorro exposes our students to a culturally-authentic musical learning experience.

Spanish Cultural Arts teaches visual art content within the context of Hispanic culture and language. Under the guidance of professional artist Sra. Gloria Arteaga, students apply elements of art to produce culturally-influenced works. For example, to learn about texture, students used recycled materials to recreate models of typical houses in Guatemala. To explore contours and facial expressions, students painted portraits about the "Day of the Dead", imitating the style of Pablo Picasso. At Maxwell culture, language, and art converge to inspire our young artists!
