MOBILITY OF TEACHING STAFF


Description and conditions


  • An Erasmus+ teaching mission is an opportunity for members of staff teaching at ESA Reunion to teach for a period of 2 to 60 days in a higher education establishment of a country participating in the Programme.

  • The activities of staff on teaching missions must be integrated into the curriculum of the host institution.

  • The minimum duration of a teaching mission is 8 hours of teaching per week.

  • The mission must be based on an inter-institutional agreement signed between the teacher’s home establishment and the host establishment.

  • The higher education establishments must agree before the start of the mission on the program of activities (teaching program) to be carried out by the participating members of the teaching staff and the applicant must submit a final report following his or her mission.




Objectives

  • To encourage higher education establishments to extend and enrich the range of classes offered, as well as their content.

  • To enable students who cannot participate in mobility programs to have access to knowledge and expertise of teachers from higher education establishments of other European countries.

  • To promote exchange of expertise and experiences in the field of teaching methodology.

  • To motivate students and teaching teams to become mobile and support them during the preparatory phase of mobility.

MOBILITY OF ADMINISTRATIVE AND TECHNICAL STAFF


Description and conditions


  • An Erasmus training mission enables administrative staff of ESA Reunion to follow a period of training of 2 to 60 days in a higher education establishment or a company in another country participating in the Program.

  • The activities of staff carrying out a training mission can take on different forms: a short posting away from the home institution, observational visit in a professional situation etc.

  • The mission must be based on an inter-institutional agreement signed between the the home establishment and the host establishment / company.

  • The higher education establishments must agree before the start of the mission on the program of activities that participating members of staff are to follow and they must submit a final report following the mission.

  • In addition to higher education establishments (HES), mobility can also take place in any public or private structure active in the professional field or in the field of education, training and socio-educational activities.


Note : For mobility outside the network of our HES partners, the international relations department can provide support, but the personal involvement of the applicant is essential, notably for the initial contact with the host establishment.


Objectives


  • To enable staff of higher education establishments to acquire knowledge and skills based on experiences and good practices in overseas countries, as well as practical skills that can be applied in their current work situation and their professional development.

  • To contribute to development and cooperation between higher education establishments

  • To promote expertise and experience around methods of working

  • To motivate students and teams, encouraging mobility and supporting them when applying for mobility.

FUNDING

Teaching missions are entirely funded by the Erasmus+ programme, including the cost of transport and a daily allowance, depending on the exact duration of the mission. Every year, the Erasmus+ agency finances a limited number of teaching and training missions.


APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Due to the limited number of grants awarded and the transparency required by the administration of the Agency, funds are granted through application. Staff interested in applying are invited to contact the International Relations and Partnerships coordinator.
