3) PROJECT 3: TYPOGRAPHY
For this assignment, you will pick a word that demonstrates eight parts of type (check the list below to see which ones!!!), and you will create a Google Drawing that labels each of the parts of type where they appear in your chosen word.
Like this:

THIS WAS JUST AN EXAMPLE. Choose a word other than "Handglovery".
Your choice of word must include the following eight parts of type:
ASCENDER BASELINE CAP HEIGHT COUNTER DESCENDER SERIF STEM X-HEIGHT
Choose your word carefully! It has to have all eight of these elements in it. Think it through before you start your drawing! If you're totally stuck, "Photography" is a good choice.
Your word must start with a capital letter, the rest should be lower-case, and you must choose a Serif font (e.g. Times New Roman).
The final requirement is that you figure out how to use a dotted line for the x-height (see example above) and that you start off by making your background white.
To get started:
1) Go to Google Drive and open your PHOTO 10 folder.
1a) If you didn't do this earlier, be sure to SHARE that folder with jamie.burns@epsb.ca.
2) Select NEW > MORE > Google Drawings
3) You can name the file Typography Project in the top-left of your drawing window.
4) Create your drawing! See the requirements above. Start by making your background white first. Be sure to choose a word that actually demonstrates all 8 of the required parts of type. Follow the tutorial below!
TO HAND IN:
1) Complete your drawing.
2) Go to CLASSROOM, open up this project, click ADD then GOOGLE DRIVE, select your drawing file from the proper Drive folder.
3) Complete the self-evaluation rubric, then click TURN IN when totally finished. Done!
