LOW/FAILING GRADES & PARENT NOTIFICATION:
A low grades list will be generated and emailed to the teachers every Monday morning that school is in session. Anytime a student is failing a class, the parent’s must be notified by the teacher. This notification should be documented via the Parent Contact - Low Grades Form. Teachers are required to have a minimum of one grade per week per class or content area. Teachers are required to update grades on PowerSchool weekly.
GRADING SYSTEM AND REPORT CARDS:
The grading system to be used in all grades 7-12 is as follows: A+ = 100-98 A = 97-93, B+ 92-90, B = 89-86, C+ = 85-83, C = 82-78, D+ = 77-75, D = 74-70, F = 69 and below.
ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY FOR ACTIVITY PARTICIPATION:
This will be determined by individual organization constitutions, germane school policy, and applicable NSAA requirements. Participation in school activities requires students to meet certain academic eligibility requirements. Any student doing failing work in two subjects will be ineligible for all interscholastic activities for the following week. (Example: On Monday morning of each week, if a student is failing two or more subjects the students will be ineligible until the following Monday). If a student is failing one class or has a grade of D in two (2) classes, the student will be assigned to the After School Student Assistance Program. See ASASP for additional guidelines.
