Internal Management (IM)

The Secretary General is responsible Internal Management (IM), the Supporting Area of ELSA which consists of Administration and Internal Affairs, Knowledge Management and Communication, Human Resources, ELSA Training, Welfare, Data Protection and Information Technologies.

You may think that the organisation of the internal meetings, whether it be the International Council Meeting or your National/Local Council Meeting is the only thing the IMer does. This is a grave misconception. The Secretary General often has the best insight into all internal matters, knows the Regulations by heart and is a vital supporter of the President when it comes to association management including setting strategic goals and managing the board.
