The Tutorium offers a comprehensive program of English instruction for speakers of other languages. Students can study full-time English, take TOEFL and IELTS test preparation courses, or take a summer enrichment program.
Classes are on the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) campus in downtown Chicago. The Tutorium program is designed for highly motivated individuals who want to improve their English language skills for university study or for business and professional advancement.
The Tutorium’s Intensive English Program (IEP) at the University of Illinois at Chicago is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) and holds membership in University and College Intensive English Programs (UCIEP) and English USA.

The Tutorium IEP is for students, age 17 and older, who are serious about their studies. Our IEP classes are challenging with regular homework, and help students reach their English and career goals, including acceptance in a U.S. university. The Tutorium’s teachers are experienced professionals with advanced degrees in teaching English as a second language.
Intensive English Program Details:
5 levels: High Beginning to Advanced Professional Skills
12 students in an average class
100 students in an average session (2-3 sections of each level)
Fall and spring: classes meet Monday - Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:10 p.m.
Summers: classes meet Monday – Thursday, and some Fridays, 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
