Intensive English Programs

The English Language Institute provides intensive English training designed to meet the academic needs of Millersville’s international students. The program is non-credit and is a pathway to meeting admissions requirements to academic programs for both undergraduate and graduate programs. Full-time ELI students receive a minimum of 18 hours of English instruction and 4 hours of supervised language lab work per week. In addition to language and academic instruction, the ELI offers students several cultural events, outside of class activities and trips to local and regional attractions. Classes are taught by dedicated, experienced instructors trained in English as a Second Language instruction and holding a master’s degree or higher. Conditional admissions is available to students, and students in levels 4,5, and 6 are able to take academic courses concurrently.

Scholarships / Financial Aid

Millersville University offers merit-based and athletic scholarship, as well as an automatic tuition reduction program for international undergraduate students. These awards range from $2,000 to $6,000 each year. International graduate students are eligible for graduate assistantships that provide a full or partial tuition waiver and a bi-weekly stipend during the academic year.
