Hi everyone.
Hopefully we won't be in lockdown for long! On this page, you will notice that there are 2 lessons. The first is the one we have just learnt in the week of 24-28 May (Session 4), and the second one is what we will be learning during the week of lockdown on 31 May -4 June (Session 5).
You don't have to do the 24-28 May (Session 4) activity. I just thought I would leave it in for you if you wanted to practice drawing letters in 3D
You need to complete the lesson for 31 May- June 4 (Session 5). This will be our last lesson where we have been focusing on drawing patterns that create the illusion of a 3D artwork.
When we get back to school, please bring in your artwork.
A4 paper

-To enhance our fine motor skills.
-To improve our emotional learning (Self-Regulation) by challenging our focus and persistence.
-To give us useful drawing skills that we can transfer into our future art learning.
Have a look at the picture above. How do you think it was made? I think you know because you gave it a go at school. This video is different to the one we watched at school.
This week, you will need to be really precise and follow the tutorial precisely. Every little mark and line will make the difference between your artwork looking crazy 3D or not.
Watch the video below to the end
Go back to the beginning of the video and start drawing. Remember, constantly pause the video.
Take your time and use your amazing self-regulation skills.
Good luck
OK, I'm sure while you were watching all those tutorials, you noticed other videos with some awesome patterns. This is our last week on this unit. You have a choice

Hope you enjoyed the unit :)
Hi Grade 3,
This week we are going to do a one off learning task. You might remember that we had a GEM poster competition. It is now past the due date but... we have extended it!!!!!
So this week is your opportunity to create a GEM poster you are really proud of. So here is what you need to do:
Think of a time you were really grateful. Often it is a time that someone showed you kindness. Here are some examples:
-Dad made you a special lunch
-Your sister made you a special birthday card
-A classmate held the door open for you with a smile
-Your friend helped you with some schoolwork
-You saw a beautiful sunset with people you love
Think of how you could express this time you were grateful just through a drawing
Create a draft of your GEM moment with a grey lead pencil
Give yourself feedback of what you have done well and what you could improve
Give yourself feedforward and act on it.
Once you are happy with your design, go over with colour pencils or markers. The more time you spend on it, the better it will be
Once you have finished, take a photo of your work and upload it to Seesaw
Can't wait to see all your artworks and the Art Captains are looking forward to selecting a winner for the competition!
