Array bingo

You will need:
a set of array cards
(PDF file, 808 KB)someone to play with.
Hint! The instructions are also below if you need them.
Array bingo
Duration: 8:07
Getting started
Each player creates a gameboard using 6 array cards.
Set aside the remaining array cards.
Place the descriptor cards in a pile, face down.
Matching arrays
Turn over a descriptor card. If a player has the matching array card on their gameboard, they may turn the array card over.
If both players have the matching array card, they can both turn over their cards.
If neither player has the matching array card, turn over the next descriptor card in the pile.
Making a match
Players can use the commutative property to rotate the arrays, so they can make a match.
For example, they could take an array that was structured as 3 twos and rotate it to show 2 threes.
How to win
The winner is the first player to turn over all their cards and say ‘bingo!’
What arrays did you rotate to make a match?
Did rotating the arrays change the total number of dots? Why or why not?
What strategies did you use to determine (work out) how many dots there are in the arrays?
Were there any arrays where you knew how many dots there were? Which ones?
For those who like a challenge!
Another way to play:
Swap the piles of cards used in the game. Make a gameboard using the descriptor cards and turn over the array cards instead.

Sun safety
Duration: 6:26
The importance of making safe decisions when in the sun
It is very important to make safe decisions when you are in the sun because it can cause:
short-term injury or illness (e.g. heat stroke and sunburn)
long-term damage to your body that can lead to serious health issues.
Ways to stay safe in the sun
There are many ways to stay safe in the sun, including:
select an appropriate time of day and year to be in the sun
select an appropriate amount of time to be in the sun
wear protection such as a hat, long sleeves, sunscreen, sunglasses
reapply sunscreen frequently
seek shade
drink water.
What does UV mean
UV stands for 'Ultraviolet'.
UV rays are the part of the Sun’s rays that cause damage.
Sunscreen and sunglasses help to block UV rays.
It is always important to think about UV rays regardless of the season. It does not have to be hot for UV to damage your skin.
What does SPF mean?
SPF stands for 'Sun Protection Factor'.
The SPF rating on sunscreen provides an amount of protection.
The higher the SPF number, the better the protection.
Just as sunscreen helps protect your skin from UV damage, you should also wear sunglasses that have UV protection. Wearing sunglasses without UV protection can cause damage.
Some swimsuits and rash shirts (‘rashies’) have UV/SPF ratings.
Complete the matching activity below.
Match each text box to the correct picture.
Select the blue 'check' button once you have matched all of them.
Hint! The posters are in the drop downs below the activity if you need some help.
