Flavoured water

6-8 plastic cups
6-8 tea bags (to be emptied).
a variety of food items that are suitable to soak in water (e.g. apple, banana, lemon, pineapple, orange).
Hint! You must ask an adult to help you with this investigation.
Flavoured water
Duration: 14:13
Method:
Place half of a food item in a tea bag and place it in a cup.
Place the other half in a different tea bag and place it in a cup.
Add cool water to one cup and warm water to the other cup.
Wait for 20 minutes.
Remove the tea bag.
Taste your water.
Observations and results:
What did you notice?
Was there a difference in taste?
Which flavour was the strongest?
Did warm or cold water have the strongest flavour?
Test the other foods you selected and discover your favourite flavour of water.
Hint! Look at the picture which shows you how you might like to record the results of your investigation in your workbook. Make sure you update the list of food items to include the food items which you used.
