Have you heard of the Cow Killer insect also known as the Panda Ant? It is a fasinating creature related to the Velvet Ant. With it's nickname thought to describe the this insects sting can inflict.
Classification
Desspite being named the panda ant the panda ant is actually a wasp. Belonging to the hymenopteran family meaning it hs 2 pairs of wings and compound eyes. The Panda Ant is also a parasitic insect with it's scientific name being euspinolia militaris.
Appearence+Size and Weight
The Panda Ant is called the Panda Ant beacause of its black and white appearence. But they look different depending on thier gender due to the males having 2 pairs of translusent wings. the females get a stinger which, when stung, is painful giving it the nicname cow killer insect. The Panda Ant has an exoskeloton used to reduce water lose. The Cow KIller insect is only 8mm long and 2-3mm tall. With its weight being unknown.
Diet
The Panda Ant lays its eggs near other bug eggs so when they hatch the panda ant young eat the eggs and young of other bugs. But once they grow to adults they feed of necter.
Habitat
Despite the name Panda Ant, the Panda Ant dosen't live in China. It acuatlly lives in the US. The states it lives in are the east coast of Florida, Westo of Missouri and Texas.
The Panda Ant is a fascinating insect that has been wrongly classifed as an ant. But it is actually a wasp.
