The Three Sisters, also known as Meechi, Wimlah and Gunnedoo are from an aboriginal dreamtime legend created by the aboriginal people. They are located in the Blue Mountains on the edge of Jamison Valley and they are significant because they are a symbol of aboriginal people place of legends and stories. The Three Sisters have been around for 200 million years since the Triassic period, and they fell in love with three brothers from the Nepean tribe, yet the tribal law forbade them to get married.
The Three Sisters are made up of sandstone and they are considered to be some kind of wall around the Jamison Valley. The Three Sisters are located on Cliff Dr, Katoomba NSW and they are considered as volcanic peaks.
Surprisingly there are different temperatures for each month in the Blue Mountains. The temperatures are for August are 12*c , September 15*c, October 18*c and November 21*c. The Three sisters were formed by land erosion and were caused by wind, rain and rivers, which caused the cliffs around the Jamison Valley to be slowly broken up. The distance around the Three sisters walk is 1 km, the duration is 45 minutes and the grade is easy and pets are not allowed.
