Pamplona is a city located in the north of Spain (100 kilometres from the French border) in the heart of the Navarre region. You can reach the city by plane, by train or by bus.
Pamplona Airport is located 6 km from the city centre and offers a regular connection with Frankfurt (Lufthansa) and Madrid (Iberia).

In Pamplona there is a beautiful old town surrounded by the defensive walls. Highlights of Pamplona's old town are:

There are many attractions to visit around the region. In the north, near the Pyrenees, visitors can find villages with traditional stone and wood houses and the Irati forest. Nature in Navarre offers a wide variety of places to visit (Lumbier and Arbayún canyons, Baztán Valley, Bardenas Reales Desert etc.). Villages nearby worth visiting are Estella, Ujué and Olite.
The most globally-known festival is the San Fermines, which takes place from the 6th to the 14th of July. Traditionally everybody who comes to Pamplona to join the celebration wears white clothes and a red handkerchief. There are many activities during the festival. Running of the Bulls is one of the most famous ones. It takes place every morning at 8 o'clock from the 7th to the 14th of July. There are also many other activities going on: such as concerts, rural sports competitions, nightly firework shows, traditional dance and music, etc.
