Between May 13th and May 17th, 2024, within the "Sustainable Development" project, our students visited our Slovakian partner school in Lučenec, Slovakia. Together with our partners from Greece and Germany, we took another step towards fulfilling our Erasmus objectives: ecology, zero-paper usage, and the promotion of technology with sustainable goals. During the week, we carried out work around the topic of sustainability and engaged with the historical and cultural heritage of the region.
The first day gave us the opportunity to get to know the participants of the mobility program and the host school itself. We also had time to get creative – we designed and made sustainable keychains, crafted candles from beeswax, and baked some pancakes.

To boost our students' ecological and sustainable consciousness, we visited a dairy farm in Telka and a biomass energy plant in Bolkovce, and tried delicious local dairy products.
The region turned out to be an interesting stop on the Slovakian historical and cultural map. We learned a lot about regional traditions while admiring the Lucenec Synagogue and the Town Hall, and during our visits to Poprad. A festival organized by the school on the stage of a local cinema was another way to get a glimpse of the local culture and understand how our Slovak partners work.

Hiking was another key point of the visit. In the High Tatras, we admired the natural beauty of Stary Smokovec, Hrebienok, and the Studenovodské Waterfalls. We were very lucky with the weather, and our teenagers got along incredibly well. There was singing and laughter all along the way. It was quite a hike!
The last day was dedicated to collaborative work to draw conclusions and reflect on the Erasmus+ experience. We prepared some sustainable posters and played collaborative games to make sure we remember the school and the time spent together. To leave an unforgatable mark, we planted trees in the school garden. The closing ceremony, which was presided over by the headmistress of Lucenec School, gave way to the dinner party held in the gym. We played sports and danced together. We had a whale of a time!

On our way to Pamplona we stopped in Viena for a day. We were charmed by the beauty of this habsburgian city. It was an incredible city walk!
The whole experience was accompanied by a wonderful team of Slovak families, students and teachers. Thank you very much for your hospitality. It was an unforgettable experience!
Last goodbyes☺️☺️
