Teachers Javier Lasheras (Spanish Language and Literature), Maira Gil Camarón, and Patricia Álvarez Hermoso (Geography and History) carried out a mobility visit to the town of Friedrichshafen, Germany, as part of the Erasmus+ programme. They visited the Gemeinschaftsschule Schreienesch (GMS Schreienesch) school.
During their stay, the teachers had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the German educational system. They attended several language classes (German, English, and Spanish), where they observed teaching methods aimed at breaking down learning barriers and encouraging active student participation.
One of the most enriching experiences was the visit to Kopf-Herz-Hand ("Head-Heart-Hand"), a partner centre of GMS Schreienesch that supports students dealing with absenteeism and socio-emotional challenges. The professionals at the centre shared their working methods, which focus on building trust and maintaining open communication with students to help them achieve their secondary school qualifications.
The teachers also held a meeting with the staff responsible for supporting students with cognitive needs and disruptive behaviour at the German school, gaining insight into the centre’s inclusive strategies.
This mobility also served as a starting point for a future partnership between both schools, with the aim of developing collaborative projects that involve students from both institutions.
The visit was complemented by several cultural activities, including trips to the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen and excursions to the cities of Bregenz, Konstanz, and Meersburg, enriching the participants' cultural immersion experience.
