National award
Irubide High School is an active and modern secondary school where diversity, equity and inclusion constitute our core values. This is why we form an active part of the Programme of Innovation PROEDUCAR-HEZIGARRI. We try to work with those with different types of difficulties by splitting groups, using technologies and innovative methodologies. On the other hand, we also offer out-of-the-box solutions to push our students to the outskirts, the limits of their minds. Our Atendiento el talento (Attending talented students) project has been awarded a national price for excellence in education.
You can find some information in Spanish on the project on our website and watch a promotional video we prepared this year.
Irubide Sostenible
Ikasnova class
Other aspects of crucial importance to our school are sustainability, new technologies and creativity.
We try to cultivate students' ecological awareness and make them care for the planet by developing such projects as Irubide Sostenible (Sustainability at Irubide School). Our school has always put a strong emphasis on technology. Therefore, we can say that today every student and teacher in the school has access to a personal Chromebook, and each classroom is equipped with a digital whiteboard. To boost online collaboration and use of cutting-edge digital tools, we also use our Ikasnova class - a technology-friendly workspace - where devices such as document readers, 360º cameras and a radio room are available.
Orchestra
Respect, acceptance and recognition of people's differences are the basis to promote a plural and democratic coexistance and a safe environment in the school through different projects Recreo Activos, Escuela Solidaria and la Orquesta (Active Breaks, Solidarity schools and the Orchestra).
