KUDOS-Visual Arts Exhibition!
IB21 students had their Visual Arts Exhibition. The body of work is one of three assessment components to be completed as part of the IB subject's examination. The South Aula space was completely transformed into a welcoming gallery space. Each student's personal exhibition space had it's own aesthetic, exhibiting a unified body of work. Well done all of you! Here is a sampling of some of what was available to see.
KUDOS-KENYA!
We are in the planning phases to start up a new project with a school in Kenya. Student and teacher representatives visited Kenya over the "Sportlov" and you can see some of their journey below.
Linnea is investigating super conducting junctions for her IB internal assessment at Chalmers.
General info for all:
Vklass messages is the official secure communication channel between teachers/admin and students/guardians and vice versa. It is an expectation that students regularly check Vklass messages and even "News" to stay up to date with important communication from the school.
Kungl. och Hvitfeldtska foundation is accepting applications for grants in 2024. Information is in Vklass news and/or go to the "Stipendier" website > "nuvarande elever" > read for more info.
Global Youth Action Fund 2024 applications are now open to all students. Do you have an amazing idea for a CAS project that could help create a better world? Maybe you should apply. The deadline is Feb 27! Read more at this link.
Attendance/absences: "CSN warning letter" will soon be called simply "Absence warning letter" or something like that. When you get a warning, it means we notice there might be a school attendance problem and we want to try and help you asap. CSN is a separate matter, but also in some ways entangled. If you do get CSN, and you do get a warning letter, you can assume that if your attendance doesn't improve, the school will eventually be reporting you to CSN. If you have any concerns about this, you can talk to the principal.
You will only ever get one warning letter in a school year. After that, at any point in the school year, the school will go ahead and report to CSN, if relevant.
You will , however, get several messages and offers for meetings and support if you are having attendance problems, since our goal is always to have you be at school as much as possible.
March 11 is an IB Student Study Day. There will be a study hall /makeup session offered to specific students. Your subject teacher will inform you if you are supposed to attend. It will be hosted by Renée , the DPC.
