IB24, how are you?
By now everyone should have a computer, a login, a student card, a locker, right? By now it should also have become clear what is happening with Swedish, for those of you who have Swedish as an additional language; and what is happening with Modern Languages.
To recap about Swedish as an additional language: if you are not a beginner, we have hopefully correctly identified you and scheduled you into something called "SCHEMA2" next week. SCHEMA2 is meeting some Swedish teachers who will assess your level. After that, some of you will go into SVA01 (those who are eligible and seem to be at this level) and those who will go into "Continuing Swedish". I explained it more in my All Welcome Info if you need more info. If you think we missed identifying you for SCHEMA2, let me (Krista) know.
If you are a beginner Swedish speaker, you will not have Swedish on your schedule at all.
Coming up for you: You know how to check the IB Program Calendar for special stuff? Yes, there are so many platforms to get used to using! Coming up for you is that the 2nd half of your class will meet the SYV (study and work counselor) to start exploring careers. Next week you will also have "Klassens dag", a fun day of activities for you to get to know each other better. It's capped off by visiting our Year 2 students collaborative science project assembly at 15.00. You will be taking part of the same project next school year. Friday next week the student council has something planned for you to do that looks fun as well. The week after that is your first class council and you will also choose your class representatives who meet with me for Program Council or meet the whole school student council for "elevråd" with the verksamhetschef. (Sometimes we mix Swedish words into our English :-).
I read your questions from the Welcome Assembly and I believe many of those questions will be answered in due time within your subjects/lessons. If you still have a burning question regarding our policies, please feel free to Vklass message me directly.
