Students will be issued a Chromebook or a PC (only for students taking Design or Visual Arts).
On your first day of school, you will go to IT at a specified time to get the computer and your login. You must try to log in immediately to ensure it works and if it doesn't, IT support is there to help.
Note: IT is in the South building and has specific opening hours throughout the week. It is the students' responsibility to go to IT if something isn't working correctly to get it fixed. If a student is uninformed due to technical difficulties, it is not a valid excuse for missing important information.
To get access to our IB HVG Program Calendar, click on this link.
It is a general calendar for teacher and student (and parental) use and thus some items may not be relevent to you. It should be clear but if you have any questions, let us know.
It contains:
Important school year dates like start, end, holidays and study days
Student assemblies, projects, field trips, other events that are outside of the regular schedule
Important reminders for teachers or students
EE deadlines (and they are also in Managebac)
The plan for mentor or homeroom time.
Teacher meetings (includes IB EHT which is not for students to attend)
The 6 periods we have created for teachers to complete our "early warning system"
TIP: When you go to Google Calendars, make sure you are in your Google Account. Then, add this calendar as "other calendar". You can click it off or on depending on when you want to check it.
The main day to day formative teaching and learning happens in here for teachers and their students.
Task submissions, feedback, etc. Calendar is here too-for homework in the subjects.
Teacher gives a code for students to join a class. There are classrooms for SYV and IB Ambassadors as well.
Teacher or IT can help with issues.
When you are logged into your school account and have joined a Classroom, the calendars will show up under "My calendars" in your Google Calendar. You can choose which you want to see.
Managing Notifications
Go to the menu, scroll all the way down down down to Settings. Choose which you want to get. Good to make sure that for "classes you're enrolled in" you choose to see "work and other posts from teachers", etc.
For DP 1 and 2 teachers, students (not PreDP).
Calendar for summative assessments.
Reporting happens in and through Managebac. Students get an email when they are ready. Principal will send a message to guardians so they are aware to ask their child to show them.
If you as a parent want access to Managebac, email james.du.priest@educ.goteborg.se with your email address, your name, and to whom you are a parent.
CAS-students input proposed experiences and evidence, reflection and learning outcomes are also added to each experience once approved.
TOK and EE assessments also tracked here.
Submission of drafts for feedback on official IB Internal Assessments and some External assessments done at school too. And final submission of the same.
Some teachers utilize Managebac for providing information about unit planning, while others utilize mostly Classroom.
You can find your reports and personalize how things look by going to your profile in the upper right hand corner. Click on it.
Scroll down to find your reports.
Be sure the right term or school year is selected. See pics.
