What is Anxiety?

Anxiety is a feeling we get when we are worried or frightened. People use lots of different words to describe feeling anxious like feeling stressed out, scared or nervous.

It is a normal feeling that everyone has sometimes. We all need anxiety to keep us safe from things that could be dangerous. Having a little bit of anxiety is helpful for us. For example, it can help us run faster in a race. Anxiety is not dangerous for us even though it doesn’t feel nice.
