I am currently preparing to apply to both UC and CSU schools. My top choices include San Diego State University (SDSU) and UC San Diego (UCSD). The application process feels challenging because it requires a lot of organization—writing essays, gathering transcripts, and meeting deadlines—but I see it as an important step toward my future. I’m learning how to represent myself well in my applications by highlighting my leadership experiences, academics, and community involvement.
For my workforce pathway, I am pursuing an internship opportunity at HarborWorks Collective, a small startup in downtown San Diego that focuses on sustainable packaging for local restaurants. This company’s mission connects with my interest in both business and community impact. In this role, I would use the skills I’ve practiced in INCubatoredu—pitching, problem-solving, and teamwork—by helping design marketing materials, interviewing local business owners, and brainstorming ways to scale their product. An experience like this would give me a clearer picture of how startups operate in real life and prepare me for entrepreneurship in the future.
My 5-year plan after high school is to attend San Diego City College, then transfer to SDSU to complete a degree in Business and Entrepreneurship. While in college, I plan to gain experience through internships like HarborWorks Collective, part-time jobs, and networking with local business leaders. By the end of five years, I want to be close to launching my own business or working for a company that aligns with my values of creativity, leadership, and community impact.
