As I prepare for college, here are 4 UC PIQs (Personal Insight Questions) I would respond to:
Leadership – Describe an example of leadership experience where I positively influenced others (joining School Ambassadors).
Creativity/Problem Solving – Talk about how I used critical thinking in Computer Science projects to solve coding challenges.
Educational Opportunity – Reflect on how taking AP classes at e3 challenged me and pushed me to grow academically.
Significant Challenge – Share how I balanced academics, wellness, and responsibilities during a difficult semester and what I learned.
These PIQs represent the areas where I’ve grown most as a student and leader at e3, and they tell my story in a way that connects both my academics and character.
My top choice for an internship would be in business and entrepreneurship, ideally with a local startup or community business in downtown San Diego. I want this opportunity because it would allow me to combine my interests in technology, teamwork, and leadership while learning how businesses operate in the real world. Gaining early exposure will help me decide whether I want to pursue entrepreneurship as a long-term career.
Through Design Thinking and SLC presentations, I’ve developed public speaking and pitching skills that will help me throughout life. Being able to present confidently, explain my ideas clearly, and respond to questions has built my communication skills and resilience. These skills will help me in job interviews, college presentations, and community leadership roles, ensuring I can represent myself and my ideas with confidence.
