Note: The "Float Figures" video shows the process we previously used to add body mass. This process can still be used, but our process of sandwiching the steel rod skeleton with cut-to-size sections of 2" Thermasheath insulation sheets, held in place with 12"wood skewers, and filled with spray foam insulation has proven to be a superior process. A support shelf of cardboard, paper, or other material may need to be fastened in to place with duct tape, skewers, etc. so as to keep the spray foam insulation from falling out the bottom (depending on how wide the gap is between the Thermasheath sheets. When the foam dries, the artist can carve the limbs to the desired form with a small hand saw and dulled tipped steak knife.
