The Sustained Investigation section has two tabs: Images and Written Evidence. You can start uploading images in the Images tab as soon as you have set up your access. We recommend that you start uploading as soon as you can, so both you and your teacher can monitor the development of your portfolio. You can always delete, add, or rearrange images later.
You’ll also indicate the height and width and the materials and processes for each work you upload in the Images tab.
Important things to remember:
Click Save Changes in the upper right before exiting or switching from one portfolio section to another. If Save Changes is enabled, you have unsaved changes on the page.
While your digital portfolio is in progress, your teacher and/or AP coordinator will be able to view it from their accounts, but they won't be able to make any changes to your work.
Here's a more detailed view of the Sustained Investigation Images tab:
Reminder: Click Save Changes to save your work before moving to another section of your portfolio or exiting the application.
When working on the Sustained Investigation section, edit or view your written evidence by clicking the Written Evidence tab.
To return to viewing your images in the Sustained Investigation section, click the Images tab. (Be sure to click Save Changes before returning to view your images.)
Your written evidence can have a maximum of 1,200 characters (including spaces).
Click on Selected Works in the Portfolio Progress Navigation menu to work on your Selected Works section.
Note: The Selected Works digital submission process for 3-D Art and Design Portfolio Exams different from that of 2-D Art and Design and Drawing Portfolio Exams.
3-D Art and Design Selected Works section:
You’ll upload your digital images for the Selected Works section on this page (see screenshot below).
2-D Art and Design and Drawing Selected Works section:
On this page (see screenshot below), you’ll upload digital backups of the physical artworks you’ll mail to the AP Program in your AP Art and Design portfolio envelope in the spring.
You’ll also need to confirm your understanding that you must submit a physical portfolio of your Selected Works section, including the printed written evidence, and ship them to the AP Program in order to receive a score. Later, once you’re in the Print step of the Portfolio Navigation Progress menu, you’ll be prompted to print your written evidence from this page (i.e., the ideas, materials, and processes).
