This class, Revision, is a combination of reading (AP Language, Mrs. Klein) and vision (Intro to Film 1, Mr. Ogunyede). We work with other students in the opposite class every Friday to form a project. This year we had the opportunity to learn how to analyze a radio commercial rhetorical situation and produce an actual commercial. These experiences will benefit my peers and me in their abilities to effectively work with other ideas, market advertisements, and promote products.
This project was a collaborative assignment across both AP Language and Film. Our tasks was to find any product to promote and recreate a radio commercial utilizing music that we studied about America. We began in APLang with analyzing the rhetorical situation of different songs such as This is America and God Bless the U.S.A. Once we gathered in our groups, we decided on our product and song that we would then incorporate into our commericial. The following weeks we continued to create our ad by writing scripts, recording and editing special effects, and presenting our work. The most challenging with this project was understanding that sometimes different people might have to cover for others in case of an absence. Despite this con, our project turned out great!
This project, I collaborated with multiple students in the 1A class with Ms. Klein. We had to create a commericial similar to the assignment above, and we decided to advertise crab legs at "Crab USA". This project was challenging because our group was very large, and communication was limited amongst all of us. There would be times members wouldn't understand what we're doing, or where to find documents. Overall, this project was pretty fun and inspired us to be more creative.
