In class, we were allowed to select a Latin American country to research. I selected Guatemala and created a webpage discussing their culture, festivities, lifestyle, etc. (Guatemala Webpage) I learned about the different historical and native languages that exist other than Spanish and learned how much of the population still uses them today. Additionally, I discovered family and community activities, such as community service, political institutions, and school life. Along with the community, investigating different festivities and holidays that Guatemalans celebrate was intriguing in this experience. Lastly, my peers and I individually created our podcasts to discuss monthly news in our countries, imitating a news reporter! This experience was very eye-opening to realize the similarities and contrasts between the United States and Latin America. The hardest part of this project was uploading the podcasts to the webpage as I had to convert different files that the platform supported. 

En clase, nosotros permitio a decidir un pais de Latin Americano a investigir. Yo decidio Guatemala y creaba un pagina web hablando sobre sus cultura, festividades, y estilo de vida. (Guatemala Webpage) Yo aprendi sobre los diferentes historica y nativa lenguas que existen otro que el Espanol, y aprendi como mucho de el populacion usan ellos hoy. Addicionalmente, yo descubri familia y communidad actividades, como servicio communidad, instituciones politicas, y vida de escuela. Con el communidad, investigar los differante festividades y dia festivios que Guatemaltecas celebrar era interestante en este experencia. Finalmente, mi companeras y yo individualmente creaban nuestro podcasts para discutir noticias cada mes in nuestra paises, imitando a los repitiendos. Este experiencia era muy intrigante para darse los similaridades y differencias entre el Estados Unidos y Latin Americano.  El parte mas dificil de este proyecto, era subiendo los podcasts a el pagina web como yo tuve que cambia differente archivos que el plataforma apoyado.

In this semester, we had to research one Latin American country as described above. For our final examen/presentation, we created slideshows on why our country is the best and should be visited. This project allowed me to learn how to advertise and encourage my classmates to visit Guatemala. In this project, we discussed topics about activities, places, accommodations, and more! Every year, Lonely Planet, recommends the top places to visit in the world for that year, so in class, my classmates and I voted for whose presentation we found most convincing. Even though I didn't win my classmates over, I would like to visit my country in the future. 

En este semestre, nosotros tenemos a investigamos uno pais Latino Americano como se mencionó antes. Para nuestro final examen/presentacion, nosotros creamos presentaciones en porque nos pais es el mejor, y deber a visitada. Este proyecto permitio mi aprender como para publicitar y animar mis amigos a visitar Guatemala. En este proyecto, nosotros hablamos topicos sobre actividades, lugares, alojamiento, y mas! Todo ano, Lonely Planet, recomiendo los mejores lugares para visitar para ese ano, entonces en clase, mis amigos y yo votamos para quien presentacion nosotros encontramos convincente. Sin embargo no gane mis amigos, me gustaría visitar mi pais en el futuro.

In this project, Sancho Hodges and I collaborated to create a new invention to tackle the water crisis in Guatemala. Our assignment was to research a Hispanic country and investigate a problem that was attacking their community, economy, or political situation. We decided to research Guatemala, which has a shortage of clean, accessible water. To eliminate this problem, we created "Gotas de Vida": a portable water filter that runs off of solar energy. We hope that this will help reduce the amount of water pollution, by increasing the amount of clean water for villages. 

En este proyecto, Sancho Hodges y yo calobramos a creemos un invencion nuevo a ayudar la agua problema en Guatemala. Nuestro tarea era a investigar un pais Hispana y investigar un problema que fue atacando sus communidad, economia, o situacion politica. Nosotros decidimos a investigar Guatemala, cual tiene un escasez de limpia, agua accesible. A eliminar este problema, nosotros creamos "Gotas de Vida": un un filtro de agua portátil que corre con energia sol. Nostros esperamos que este ayuda reducir la cantidad de polucion agua, de creciente la cantidad de agua limpia para pueblos.
