All backpacks must be stored in the classroom parking lot. Review the sign posted for what materials to bring to your workspace.
We follow the 1st 10 minutes and last 10 minutes. Students must wait until the open time period to make a request. Use of GMS Agenda Passes is enforced. Students may have a covered water bottle, but this may not always be allowed at their seats.
Per GMS Safety and Security Policy, use of the bathroom is not permitted during transitions between classes.
All students are responsible for work assigned to them in this course. If you are absent, remember to check Canvas for any work missed. Contact the teacher using Canvas Inbox if you have any questions.
It is important to be on time to class. If you are late, you are required to have a pass from an a staff member at your previous location.

Art assignments, such as projects and weekly sketchbook prompts, must be documented as a photo and submitted to the related assignment on Canvas.
Daily Warm Ups, Journal Checks, and some other activities will be checked for completion during class time.

In this class you will complete work that falls under the following categories: Response to Art 10%, Studio Skills 20%, Classwork 30%, & Major Assignments/Projects 40%.
Late Work Policy | All work must be turned in by the due date assigned. Below outlines how grading will be adjusted if work is turned in late:
Collected/Checked work - If work is late, students will have up to five days to complete applicable course work, as per the GMS Grading Policy. **Art Projects are the exception as it is essential that students are present to complete them and it is not always possible to work on them after given deadlines.
Work Graded by Rubric - Rubrics include Meets Deadline criterion. This criterion outlines how a reduction of points can occur if photos of artwork or sketchbook prompts are submitted late.
Visual Arts classes are semester long classes. Per teacher discretion, a student may have the opportunity to make up missing work as marking periods draw to a close. This will be assessed on a case by case basis.
