Start with doing some research to find out why bats are so important (in ecosystems and for humans) and about the huge diversity of bats in Kenya (and around the world). Then build a bat house to encourage more insect-eating bats to live around the ISK Campus. Check out the ones in the ISK Community Forest and look for evidence of their occupation by looking for bat scat (little oval droppings) underneath the house. There are lots of simple building plans that can be found online. Bat houses work best if they are well sealed (keeps them warm and dry), painted black (to absorb heat) and are placed in a sunnier location and mounted at least 12 feet off the ground. Let these inspire you.
