Forest "Bathing" is an ancient technique for connecting with nature by finding your own special place and doing nothing in particular, just looking, listening, and "bathing" with all your senses to soak in the peaceful and relaxing energy of a beautiful forest environment. In Japan, this technique for improving health and wellness is called "Shinrin Yoku" and scientific studies have shown that we all can benefit from a minimum of 20 minutes at least 3 times a week of forest bathing. Give it a try with your class and for younger ones, perhaps start out with only a few minutes and gradually make each experience a bit longer as younger students get used to the experience of being alone and quiet for more extended periods of time.
