Mobile Phones

Our Expectations re: Use of Mobile Phones by Students in Years 7 to 11

Students are allowed to carry their personal mobile phones in school due to the long distances many of our students travel.  However, from the moment a child enters the school site the mobile phone must be switched off and secured in their school bag not to be seen in school during the course of the day. Merely having a phone in your pocket or on your person alongside headphone wires will constitute a breach of our expectations. This means that mobile phones cannot be used:

If a student is ill they MUST go to reception. The only way any arrangement with home can take place is through the school. Students must not contact home from a mobile and arrange to go home unless done so through the school office. Neither should parents attempt to contact pupils directly to arrange to pick them up or to alter plans - this should be done via the school office.
