Homework

Homework is a very important factor in your child’s education. It is usually designed to reinforce what has been done in lessons, and help students to test their understanding of what they have learnt. Encourage your child to do the homework on the day it is set to avoid build up.

Try to ensure that your child has a quiet area, with enough space in which to work at home, and insist that enough time is set each evening to spend on homework. If you can, try to check the work to ensure that your child has done what was instructed and that the work is neat and well presented.

If you find that they are spending longer than the suggested time on a piece of homework or are struggling to complete it, please ask them to contact their teacher in advance of the deadline for support or clarification.

There are opportunities for your child to complete homework within school, as well as use of the school library each lunch time where students can get help and support with homework as well as use a computer if necessary.
