Mrs. Hirsch grew up in Illinois and New Jersey and spent summer weekends on the lakes of Michigan and Vermont. She attended the University of Colorado in Boulder where she completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and earned an elementary teaching license. She then moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where she earned her master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education at Peabody College at Vanderbilt University. Eventually, she and her husband made it back to Colorado - he’s a native! They have three kids who are in college (University of Tennessee, Iowa State, and University of Alabama).
Mrs. Hirsch has had opportunities to work with children of all ages and abilities in general education classrooms, special education settings, and gifted education support. She has taught in public, private, and charter schools. Mrs. Hirsch worked in the Student Services Department at Ascent Classical Academy Douglas County for two and a half years and then transitioned to the Homeschool Enrichment Program. This will be her fifth year teaching Kindergarten.
Mrs. Hirsch enjoys traveling with her family, exploring new places, baking, gardening, and reading. She is fascinated with trying to fix their household appliances and machines. She also enjoys photography and would love to learn more.
