All of our students will rotate through the following six classes. Click on the classes below for a description of each one.
The music course will focus on the elements of music, music appreciation and various instruments. Students will study and learn classical music and participate in choral performance.
This science class will focus on teaching the skills of observation in the natural world as students learn to wonder about the environment around them. They will regularly be outdoors as they learn to create and keep a nature journal.
Younger students will listen to classic stories and participate in supplementary activities that enrich the literature. Older students will use the Socratic Seminar method to read and discuss great works with their classmates.
This class will introduce students to the art of speaking. Students will study, practice and recite poetry, Shakespeare, fables and fairy tales. They will participate in short performances based on adaptations of classical literature.
Students will see history come alive as they learn about remarkable men and women who have changed the course of history. This class will supplement your at-home history study as well as the other enrichment courses as students learn about the lives of scientists and other key figures throughout history.
This class will illustrate important elements of making and appreciating art. Students will interact with a variety of mediums including: paint, clay, oil pastel, print-making, calligraphy and drawing. Students will study important artists, works of art, and artistic concepts as well as great works of art by the masters.
