We are so excited about this coming school year!  We cannot wait to greet returning students and see some new faces as well.  

Beginning in August each class will be learning various artistic skills to express the beauty of nature through art.  Each class will practice basics like the color wheel, mixing colors, drawing from observation, and become familiar with different art media.

Some of the artists we will study this year are Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Frida Kahlo; all whose art has stood the test of time.  

Fifth through eighth graders will be focusing on art historical movements such as Impressionism/Post Impressionism, Renaissance and Realism.  

Your children's art will be exhibited at Fine Arts Night in the Spring.  At that time you will be able to bring home all of their beautiful work.

This year, Mrs. Craig, who has been Mrs. Lewis's art aide for the past two years, will also be teaching kindergarten and first grade art.  Mrs. Lewis will continue to teach second through eighth grade.
