On the crisp morning of October 18th, 2024, Synergia, the Society of B.Sc Life Science Students marked the grand finale of another remarkable year with its much-awaited Valedictory event in the Vivekananda Auditorium, Deshbandhu College.
The festivities began with a burst of colors and creativity during the Rangoli competition from 9:30 to 10:30 am, where participants merged artistic expression with scientific themes. Followed by the Quiz competition at 10:30 am, igniting a competitive spirit among the attendees.
The formal proceedings commenced with a warm welcome to the audience and Lamp Lighting ceremony, graced by the esteemed presence of Principal : Prof. Rajendra Kumar Pandey ; Guest Speaker : Prof. (Dr.) Ramesh Dawar ; IQAC Coordinator Aditya Saxena ; Advisor of Synergia : Prof. Manisha Senger ; Convenor : Dr. Gouri Nandi ; Co-Convenor, Dr. Archana Milhotra and Admission coordinator Ms. Anjana Singh. Together, they lit the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the triumph of knowledge over ignorance.
Adding a soulful touch to the event, first-year BSc Life Sciences student Sargam delivered a beautiful performance of Saraswati Vandana, followed by recitation of University's Kulgeet.
The ceremony continued with the Felicitation of Faculty Members. Dr. Gouri Nandi, the Convenor, Synergia, delivered an inspiring welcome note, reflecting on the society's journey throughout the year. Principal, Prof. Rajendra Kumar Pandey, followed with his welcome address, emphasizing the significance of life sciences in today’s world. The IQAC Coordinator, Prof. Aditya Saxena, also shared his insights.
One of the highlights of the event was the much-anticipated launch of 4th edition of Trinity, Synergia's yearly magazine, which captured the essence of the society’s achievements and activities throughout the year.
A fitting introduction for the guest speaker, Prof. (Dr.) Ramesh Dawar, was presented by Ms. Anjana Singh, Admission Coordinator, Life Sciences-2024. Prof. (Dr.) Dawar captivated the audience with her insightful lecture titled “Our Health, Our Power: Shielding Against Cancer,” where she highlighted crucial strategies for cancer prevention and the importance of early detection. A stimulating Questionnaire session followed, allowing for engaging dialogue. Co-Convenor Dr. Archana Milhotra delivered a beautiful vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all.
The event continued with the Felicitation of Prof. (Dr.) Ramesh Dawar, a gesture of gratitude for her invaluable insights and contributions. The cultural segment featured a captivating performance by Timber, the semi-classical music society of Deshbandhu College, followed by a mesmerizing semi-classical dance performance by first-year BSc Life Sciences students Shreya and Saumya, bringing the stage to life with their grace.
After a brief 20-minute intermission, the Valedictory session commenced, acknowledging the contributions of the previous year's council members and office bearers. The announcement of the winners of the Rangoli and Quiz competitions celebrated creativity and intellectual prowess. Finally, the announcement of the new office bearers and council members for the year 2024-2025 marking a new chapter for Synergia.
The day concluded with a delicious lunch. The 2024 Valedictory event was not just a celebration; it was a profound reminder of the power of knowledge, community, and the unyielding pursuit of excellence that defines Synergia.
