⭐Implement strategies for informal student-level assessments throughout the year that place ownership/accountability on the students.
⭐Conduct classroom visits and share best practices to monitor and support the implementation and effectiveness of schoolwide WICOR strategies, AVID Elective curriculum (Weeks at a Glance), tutor performance, and site-based goals. Record findings for certification documentation.
⭐Work with AVID Elective teachers for ongoing refinement of Tutorial process and non-negotiables.
⭐Visit the AVID Weekly website and discuss ways to incorporate WICOR lessons into content classrooms.
⭐Create systems for access to evidence that supports the certification process.
⭐Interface with feeder schools to explore potential benefits of collaboration to better align the K-12 system.
⭐Provide Tutor Training for new tutors; provide continuing education for returning tutors.
⭐Use AVID Domains/Subdomains as your guide for all Site Team meetings to support the collection of certification artifacts and implementation fidelity.
⭐Submit your Site Plan to the District Director.
⭐Attend Site Team meetings and coordinator workshops as scheduled.
⭐Monitor and disseminate information from the District Director and AVID Center to applicable school staff, including through newsletters, district meetings, emails, flyers, etc.
⭐Provide opportunities for AVID students to experience college visits, career speakers, mentorships, etc.
⭐Determine service learning projects that students will participate in for the year.
⭐Develop a list of potential community partnerships to support AVID.
⭐Discuss ways to display/communicate site-level data and measures of success schoolwide.
⭐Ensure AVID seniors are on track to take SAT® or ACT®.
⭐Create plans for AVID students to sit for vertically articulated college entrance exams.
